Kees is als docent Engels gepokt en gemazeld in het voortgezet onderwijs. Naast zijn liefde voor de Engelse taal en literatuur gaat zijn belangstelling ook uit naar de geschiedenis van de Tweede Wereldoorlog. En met name naar de Shoah. Naast schrijver en co-auteur van verschillende toneelstukken over dit onderwerp heeft hij ook drie historische werken op zijn naam staan. Eén over de Jodenvervolging in zijn woonplaats (Waar ze ook heen gaan, ze hebben in elk geval mooi weer, 2012), één over een Alphense arts die ook in het verzet zat (Pilon, arts en verzetsman, 2016). Zijn meest recente boek bevat tientallen verhalen van bewoners en medewerkers van de Martha-Stichting, een voormalig kindertehuis in Alphen aan den Rijn (Het Boek der Martelaren, 2017). De drie boeken die hij heeft geschreven zijn gebaseerd op de verhalen die mensen hem verteld hebben. In zijn woonplaats geeft Kees regelmatig lezingen en gastlessen over de onderwerpen die hem bezighouden.

As the founder and curator of the Made In Chicago Museum, he has written extensively for more than a decade about the hundreds of manufacturing businesses that helped create that city’s industrial standing in the 20th century. One of those businesses, the famous candy giant Mars Inc., commissioned Andrew to write an official company history book to mark the closing of its original Chicago factory. The Mars Wrigley Candy Factory - Chicago: A Farewell Yearbook, was published in 2024. Andrew was also proud to write the first official company history book for one of the pioneers of automated music: Roll with the Punches: The Story of QRS Music (2024). Across a varied 20-year career, Andrew has always embraced the opportunity to tell previously untold story. Whether as a music journalist, sports writer, researcher, DIY museum curator, or copy-editing desk jockey, his central pursuit is the unique character of the subject and the relatable, engaging (and factually accurate!) translation of that subject’s experience. Her creative work spans short stories, scriptwriting, and ongoing fiction projects, including her novel Prodigal Honey, longlisted for the Exeter Novel Prize in 2015. She is Proud of her South Asian Indian and West African heritage, she feels lucky that she is able to draw on both cultures to enrich her storytelling. When Dettie is not writing or performing, you’ll find her eating anything with cheese in it or on it, obsessing over Liverpool football club, or defending her title as a virulent coffee snob.

She's still practising what she preaches, every day. Roz has also taught masterclasses for Writers & Artists and spoken at the Chartered Institute for Editing & Proofreading. She's editor-in-chief for the Alliance of Independent Authors. She's judged major writing competitions in fiction and creative non-fiction (including the Amazon Kindle Storyteller Award and the Vine Leaves Press International Voices Award). And a manuscript she doctored in its early stages went on to win the Roald Dahl Funny Prize. It's hard to get Roz away from her writing desk, but when she steps into meatworld you'll find her running, lifting weights, dancing and training her horse in classical Freanch dressage.
